Please be aware that an antibiotic resistant strain of Staph is being found in colleges (and gyms and elsewhere) and KILLING STUDENTS. It is being called the new HIV/AIDS
The latest outbreak was found right here in Westchester County at Iona College.
Those of you who are on sports teams must be especially careful. If you have any open cuts or broken skin (rash) at all you MUST cover them. If you use any workout equipment, cover yourself as much as possible-any open cuts should be covered and wipe the equipment down before and after you use it with antibacterial spray.
After working out, wash yourself (at home preferably) from head to toe and clean out any cuts with peroxide or alcohol.
Do not take this lightly-listen to your favorite professor!

Thanks for the information professor. As a daily user of workout equipment, I've always wiped them down before and after using them, but now, I'll definitely be more aware of being extra cautious!!
i work down the street from iona and i heard about this as soon as it came out... i wish i had a full body condom to wear in new rochelle =/
I heard about this on the radio but the parents of the kids affected were not too concerned. Maybe it wasn't the same thing? These are the times I wish people would become really anal and spray everything down with strong disenfectant spray.
The full body condom would be a good idea. They could make them in different colors!
